In a Park

In a Park is a renovation project of an original 3-bedroom unit located in the northeast region of Singapore, designed for our horticulturist client. During the pandemic, many homeowners became amateur horticulturists. For some, this interest faded as they returned to the daily grind. But for others, gardening defined a new way of living — yet their existing home layout didn’t suit this new hobby.

We decided to abstract a park setting for these plants. As we recalled the older parks in Singapore, we realized that the double-bullnose brick — commonly used for outdoor benches, walkway edges, and planters — was unique to park settings. In a Park project aims to spotlight this forgotten brick, inspired by Singapore’s parks of yore.
