Kim Tian Interior

Located along Kim Tian Road near the Tiong Bahru enclave, this apartment is a personal retreat for a client who navigates two distinct rhythms — Lawyer by day, DJ by night. The home balances quiet domesticity with spaces for gathering, music, and unwinding.

At the entrance, a voluminous curved shelving in pine veneer defines the threshold. Sculptural in form, it screens the dining area from direct view when the main door opens. The entrance stepping stones set within loose pebbles articulate circulation in an organic & unconstrained way. Their unconfined placement forms informal thresholds, subtly slowing movement.

Natural materials anchor the interior, bringing warmth and tactility throughout. Rosso travertine surfaces, laid in a crosshatched pattern, provide a textured backdrop for the dining setup, while selective moments of color punctuate the space. In the bathroom, Empress green stone marble meets a grid of small-format green tiles, accented by chrome fittings.

Filtered natural light animates the surfaces throughout the day, highlighting the textures of stone, wood, metal, and veneers in their most natural state.

The mood is casual, comfortable, and effortless — a home designed for hosting, music, and quiet retreat.
